July 5, 2023—CCO is delighted to announce that test center testing (TCT) will be an option for CCO candidates.
Computer-based testing (CBT) was due to sunset at the end of 2023 and be replaced by event online testing (EOT) as well as online proctored testing (OPT). While EOT and OPT have been widely well-received, CCO heard concerns relating to insufficient internet access, individuals preferring not to use their personal computers, and a preference to go to a test site rather than creating sterile testing environments.
Due to this feedback, CCO decided to investigate creating an alternative that resulted in the CCO Board taking action to allow for the creation of test center testing (TCT).
“We are pleased that we received feedback from stakeholders on how valuable testing in-center is and were able to create this option for candidates” said CCO CEO Thom Sicklesteel.
At the end of 2023, as previously announced, paper-pencil and CBT testing will be sunset. However, in 2024, candidates will enjoy the flexibility of three written testing options; OPT, EOT, and TCT.
